Yet another Democracy goes against the Bush Administration A booming economy (outsourcing! outsourcing!) was expected to carry the pro-Western BJP Coalition to a substantial victory over the out-of-office Congress Party led by the widow of Rajiv Ghandi. But following the overwhelming trend of most democracies having elections the last year, if you are the party more associated with the Bush Administration you will lose and the trend was overwhelmingly shown in India. As the Washington Post states:
The prospect of an Indian government led by the Congress Party and its left-leaning allies is likely to cause some apprehension in Washington. The Bush administration has enjoyed warm relations with Vajpayee's government, with which it shares common views on Islamic extremism and economic policy. Congress Party leaders have been critical of the BJP's closeness to Washington and have blamed its economic policies for neglecting the poor.
You know it is more than a trend...it's a peaceful revolution rejecting our Bully-in-Chief, the world -- our allies -- are crying out for us to lead -- in a different manner than Bush II. Again, the most idiotic argument the Bush Adminstration has put forth against Kerry (and it is quite a contest) is the "foreign leader" endorsement idea -- it's manifestly evident that the overwhelming majority of sovereign nations are hoping Kerry wins.
