A Statement from a Republican we Like, that modern Republicans would do well to Remember I must say that I am rather disappointed at attempts to trivialize or diminish the effects of the tortures of Iraqi's by some (and I emphasize some) GOPers. Reading the NY Times today it appears that a historical reading will take place of one of Lincoln's most famous speeches, that made in New York prior to his election as President at the Cooper Union. It was, as the story says, a different time, when public speeches were what people wanted to hear and Lincoln's address was approximately one hour long. A line from that address resonates today, and our conundrum in Iraq. "Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it."
