Gee, this Story sounds Familiar On occasion I visit the conservative blogs, or message boards with a substantial number of conservatives. I imagine this is part finding out not just what the other side thinks, but whether they think; but also because I'm an intellectual sado-masochist. But the BIG story not being covered by the SCLM last week was the alleged finding of Sarin and Mustard laced missiles by Polish Troops...one that had Rummy visiting radio wackjobville to brag about. The obvious reason for this is that WMD claims are now so dubious that ONLY the right-wing choir will hear them uncritically anymore. I'm guessing FoxNews jumped on this story. This gives them a chance to chat amongst themselves I suppose. However, just like every other claim so far, this too was dubious and irrelevant from the beginning (about 20 years old to begin with). Now the missiles have been shown NOT to contain such materials.
the 122mm warheads, found in late June, have been found not to contain the deadly chemicals, a statement from multinational forces here said. "Those 16 rounds were all empty and tested negative for any type of chemicals," it said. Two other warheads found in mid-June were found to contain an insignificant amount of sarin gas. The armaments were left over from the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s, the statement said. "Due to the deteriorated state of the rounds and small quantity of remaining agent, these rounds were determined to have limited to no impact if used by insurgents against coalition forces."
Will the Freepers or FoxNews says, Oopsy? Don't count on it.
