Axis of Not Quite as Evil But he's so forceful, and a man of his word In a sign that the coalition may be at a loss over how to quell the insurgency, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi said Washington had appealed through intermediaries for Tehran's help. Famously dubbed by Bush part of "an axis of evil" along with North Korea and Iraq, Iran, which is majority Shiite Muslim, may be in a unique position to intercede with rebels led by wanted cleric Moqtada al-Sadr although so far it has kept its distance from him. "There has been a lot of correspondence. Regarding Iraq, there has also been a lot of exchanges of correspondence," Kharazi told reporters when asked of the current state of relations with the United States. "Naturally, there was a request for our help in improving the situation in Iraq and solving the crisis, and we are making efforts in this regard," the minister said.
