"Look, I'm going to say it one more time. ... The instructions went out to our people to adhere to law. That ought to comfort you." So sayeth noted legal scholar Chimpy McFlightsuit yesterday at an impromptu massacre of the of the english language in front of the press. Of course, what Bush neglected to note is the picture that has emerged this week on how hard his administration worked on a "strategery" that would allow them to get around the law against torture on technical grounds. Or to get around the law on less technical reasons such as "you're the President Chimperor, you can do what you want". Adherence to the law doesn't comfort me when you are having your lawyers find a way for you to get around its messy technicalities.
